There are 40 acres of some of the most beautiful gardens and grounds in West Wales.

WEDNESDAY Leaving the hotel we head south through Kidwelly and make our way to the picture postcard resort of Mumbles, delightfully located on Swansea Bay. We have time for a look round and to obtain lunch. This afternoon we have a short drive to the Gower Heritage Centre at Parkmill. Here we meet our guide for a tour taking us to the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula, designated an ‘Area of outstanding natural beauty’. After the tour we return to the Heritage Centre and enjoy a Gower Cream Tea.

THURSDAY Today our excursion takes us via St Bride’s Bay and Newgale Sands to the magical place of St. David’s, birthplace of the patron saint of Wales. St. David’s has a beautiful Cathedral, the smallest in Great Britain, well worth a visit. From St. David’s we head around the Preseli Mountains back to hotel.

FRIDAY After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey.

Eastbourne 5 Days 6 – 10 May 2022

The elegance intended by the 7th Duke of Devonshire when he designed Eastbourne in 1834 still survives. Private houses, good hotels and banks of flowers are to be found along the three mile level Esplanade, while at its centre is the Wish Tower and several theatres. There is an excellent shopping centre. I always think Eastbourne is how holidays used to be! The warm welcome at the Haddon Hall Hotel and the beautiful Sussex countryside make Eastbourne the perfect venue for Kettlewell’s South coast holiday.

YOUR HOTEL The Haddon Hall Hotel is enviably situated at the seafront end of Devonshire Place, a broad lined tree avenue which links the main promenade with the town centre. This is our lunch stop today and we have chance to explore before we head back across the River Tay to Dundee.

THURSDAY Today is free to explore in detail the city of Dundee. You could visit Discovery Point and board Captain Scott’s ship RRS Discovery where you will follow in the footsteps of him and his crew, see how they lived, what they ate, witness their hardships and triumphs on their heroic exploration of Antarctica, maybe visit the V & A Museum of Design, enjoy a spot of retail therapy or just sit and watch the world go by.

THURSDAY After a leisurely breakfast we head for our first visit to St Ives and in the afternoon we visit St Neots. Both beautiful small towns.

TUESDAY Leaving after a leisurely breakfast we drive to historic Stroud on the way to Cirencester, ‘capital of the Cotswolds’. We take a break here and you have chance to wander around the lovely town. This afternoon we visit Chavenage House, a stunning 16th century, Cotswold stone manor house with many Civil War associations. The house is currently featured as ‘Trenwith’ – the Poldark family manor from the popular TV series.

WEDNESDAY We spend the morning in Gloucester, with chance to look around the historic city centre and visit the magnificent Cathedral, and this afternoon we head for the restored and very impressive Victorian Docks. Here we find the National Waterways Museum and we also enjoy a cruise on the Sharpness Canal. After the cruise enjoy a stroll around the Docks and visit the Merchant’s Quay shopping centre, with unique and unusual shops, cafes and bars.

THURSDAY Our visit today takes us along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow for a short break before we meander north up the beautiful Wye Valley, passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey on the way. Lunch stop today is in delightful Monmouth and afterwards we enjoy a cruise on the River Wye at Symonds Yat, returning afterwards to the hotel.

FRIDAY After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey stopping for lunch on the way.

Invergordon is located on the Cromarty Firth north-shore and boasts stunning views towards the western Beins and Black Isle. The second largest of the Channel Islands has a wonderful coastline with beautiful bays, and pastoral scenery that includes the handsome, much-prized Guernsey dairy cows. The tax-free haven is perfect for duty-free shopping.

SUNDAY Honfleur France
Over the years many renowned painters and writers have been attracted to pretty Honfleur, which with its narrow, half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets and charming old harbour set in a sheltered cove off the Seine’s tidal estuary, is simply enchanting. Unlike many of its Normandy neighbours, Honfleur was spared during the bombing of World War Two and nestled in its tidy, picturesque streets historic buildings house art galleries, artists’ studios, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and fine souvenir shops.

Eastbourne Turkey & Tinsel 5 Days 28 November – 2 December2022

The elegance intended by the 7th Duke of Devonshire when he designed Eastbourne in 1834 still survives. Private houses, good hotels and banks of flowers are to be found along the three mile level Esplanade, while at its centre is the Wish Tower and several theatres. There is an excellent shopping centre. I always think Eastbourne is how holidays used to be! The warm welcome at the Haddon Hall Hotel and the beautiful Sussex countryside make Eastbourne the perfect venue for Kettlewell’s South coast holiday.

YOUR HOTEL The Haddon Hall Hotel is enviably situated at the seafront end of Devonshire Place, a broad lined tree avenue which links the main promenade with the town centre. The bandstand is located across the road from the hotel. All of the well furnished bedrooms have private facilities with colour TV and tea and coffee makers. There is a spacious lounge, ballroom, cocktail bar and some entertainment. There is a lift, although some rooms have a few steps to them.

MONDAY We set off in the morning from Retford and local pick up points and head towards the south coast making a stop at lunchtime.
