Festive Liverpool & Chester Christmas Markets with Beatles Story & Mersey River Cruise
Christmas markets are famous for their culinary offerings. You can enjoy a variety of traditional and seasonal foods, such as roasted chestnuts, gingerbread cookies, sausages, crepes, and pastries.
Hot drinks like mulled wine (glühwein), hot chocolate, and spiced cider are also popular choices to keep you warm during the cold winter days. Not forgetting the handcrafted Gifts and artisanal products which are a significant part of Christmas markets. You can find unique and locally crafted items, including jewelry, candles, woodwork, pottery and much, much more.
YOUR HOTEL: The Aloft Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Liverpool. The Grade II listed building blends together the old and the new with contrasting modern bedrooms and facilities. Hotel facilities include an on-site gym, Michelin guide recommended restaurant and bar. All rooms come en-suite with television, WiFi, complimentary water and hairdryer.
MONDAY: Depart from your home area in the morning for Liverpool and the Aloft Hotel. Tea or Coffee on arrival.
TUESDAY: The day starts with a drive into the historic city of Chester. A magical Christmas all wrapped up! Get the festive feeling this winter spoil yourself at Chester Christmas Market. A handmade, historical, magical experience awaits you with 70 traders situated in the square around the town hall, the new arcade and the forum surrounding the iconic sparkling tree in the heart of the city. Late afternoon we return to the hotel for dinner.
WEDNESDAY: This morning we head for the Beatles Story Museum, where the journey is told of how four young lads from Liverpool were propelled to the dizzy heights of fame and fortune from their humble childhood beginnings. We round off the day with a ferry cruise around the River Mersey taking in the sights and sounds of the famous waterway before returning back to our hotel.
THURSDAY: After breakfast we head into Liverpool to all that Liverpool Christmas market has to offer which includes more than 40 traditional timber stalls showcasing an assortment of handmade crafts, unique jewellery, and artisan food from around the globe. A highlight is the Bavarian Bar, which serves seasonal drinks such as mulled wine, hot chocolate and classic German bratwurst. The Christmas chalets provide a great opportunity to shop for Christmas decorations and handmade gifts. Expect to find locally made gifts, international products, delicious snacks and Christmas specialties. Mid afternoon after a very eventful few days we begin our homeward journey.
