BOURNE HALL HOTEL
An elegant, family run, Country House Hotel and restaurant, set in mature grounds in Shanklin, Isle of Wight.  Originally built in the late 1860’s, said to be for one of Queen Victoria’s ladies in waiting, the “house” still retains its sense of history whilst providing comfortable accommodation enhanced by its original Victorian features. Situated a few minutes’ walk south of Shanklin “old village”.  All rooms are fully en-suite, have flat TV’s, Wi-Fi access, courtesy toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and outdoor pool.

MONDAY  Depart from your home area and travel to the Isle of Wight, crossing via ferry, arriving late afternoon at the Bourne Hall Hotel with Tea/coffee on arrival.

TUESDAY  This morning we travel to the seaside resort of Ryde, which inspired the Beatles hit song ‘Ticket to Ride’.  Next, we visit Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s palace by the sea. Look out for Victorian opulence, extravagant interiors and jaw-dropping Indian decor in the Durbar Room

WEDNESDAY  After breakfast, we head to Godshill, one of the most photographed and prettiest villages on the island.  Later, we visit the ‘capital’ of the Isle of Wight, Newport. This historic town centres on two elegant squares with Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them, with the town’s quay a short distance away.

THURSDAY  Today we head to Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, with a focus on rescued and threatened wildlife and puts the Isle of Wight at the frontline for the protection of endangered species.  Wildheart provides forever homes for animals that have been rescued from horrendous conditions around Europe, offering them refuge and the chance to flourish at the Sanctuary – from lemurs and lions to monkeys and meerkats.  Enjoy a guided tour to learn about the stories of the animals in care and the contributions of the Sanctuary to international wildlife conservation.  Following our visit, the rest of the afternoon is free to explore our base of Shanklin at leisure.

FRIDAY  After breakfast, we leave and head for home, arriving at mainland England via Wightlink Ferry.
